Taking a break
A pause on the newsletter... but not for long
Hi Everyone
It’s with a fairly heavy heart this morning that I’m sending this out to announce that I am pausing the newsletter for a brief period. I know - just as everyone is flying out to La Gomera for the start of World’s Toughest Row!
The reality is that the twin demands of running a busy lifestyle desk at The Telegraph and managing my own masters rowing career - as well as getting ready for Christmas - has proved too much.
One of the reasons that I made this newsletter paid was to make sure I wrote a newsletter every weekend. I can’t do this at the moment, so I’ve paused subscriptions for those of you who are paying.
When I launched the newsletter I actually thought I was going to be self-employed for the foreseeable future. But fate had other thoughts, and just three weeks later I was offered the role at the Telegraph.
I’m proud that I’ve completed an entire year of the newsletter while getting to grips with my new role.
Meanwhile, I’ve had a hefty masters rowing calendar this year, from the Women’s Veterans Boat Race with Oxford to the Fours Head with Lea Rowing Club. For the past few weeks I’ve been racing every other weekend - which I love, but it is time consuming, along with normal training.
So please bear with me while I sort the rest of my life out - and good luck to everyone flying out to La Gomera this weekend.
